Calf rescue! This young female calf was found with her leg stuck in a hole in a concrete water pipe. The following action steps were taken:
Sedation to keep her calm and prevent struggling which may have caused more injury.
The hole was made larger by breaking into the concrete. The leg was protected with oil and cloth.
Transport to a safe stable for pain relief and wound treatment.
Xrays to determine if any bones were brocken.
Confinement until the leg was comfortable for the calf to walk on.
